Due to the overnight storms on Sunday, there has been considerable damage to many trees around various parts of course.
Great effort has been put in to clear the fallen trees and branches, however this will be an ongoing process, as at the same time our staff are trying to present the course in the best condition possible, and hopefully the course will be cleared for the weekend.
The Course will be closed till 9am this morning and the buggies will be reviewed at this time due to heavy rain.
We will be shallow solid tining the tees, approaches and fairways over the next 4 weeks to improve water percolation into the soil from the surface during the Autumn. By opening up the surface will also aid future work planned such as spraying the worm cast and softening the soil ready for verti-draining.
Fog/mist alert this morning currently borderline so there may be delays this morning.
Hedge strimmed and cleared ready for weedkiller and replanting.
The oak tree on the 10th has been trimmed and the green can be seen from the tee.
We will be needle tining the greens to 3″ depth at 8mm diameter on Monday 14th-15th October 2013. The reason for this work is to aerate the greens to keep the surface dry during the wet autumn months and to reduce outbreaks of disease. There will be minimal disruption to the surface and the holes should close over and back to normal by Thursday.
