1st Tee Garden
The new project on the 1st Tee is well under way and the area has been sprayed this week for weeds and the new posts have been painted, work will commence next week with the install of the new path to the tee.
7th/14th Bluebell Area
Recently cleared areas on the 7th and 14th are really coming along with the Bluebell’s in full flower, I have registered these ancient Bluebell areas with the Woodland Trust through their website #BigBluebellWatch. I will expect these areas to increase their population of Bluebells in time providing we clear the ground floor off any new growth from weeds etc, this will be incorporated into our winter plan. There has been some Oaks that have been felled due to them being either dead, dying and creating space for mature trees to grow into. This is all part of managing a woodland area of Bluebells and mature Oaks.
Leylandii on the 14th
We will be removing the Leylandii on the 14th and replacing them with Pine trees this week as part of our plan to remove Leylandii from the course. These trees cause stress to our grass area by their shading and increase disease to the greens nearby. We have chosen Pine trees as they will cope with the free drying soil around the 14th green.
